Carly Uttridge- Therapeutic Practitioner | Founder of The Wonder Within Programme
Carly is a Therapeutic Practitioner with experience across hospitals, education, safeguarding and family support. She is also the founder and former leader of a forest school and outdoor alternative provision, where she created nurturing spaces for children to learn, express themselves and reconnect through play, creativity and meaningful relationships.
Her approach is trauma-informed, relational and neuro-affirming. She supports young people to feel understood, develop a stronger sense of self and reconnect with the people and world around them.
Carly has a particular interest in supporting teenagers experiencing anxiety, post-traumatic stress responses, emotional overwhelm, masking, school-related distress, self-harm, and difficulties connected to identity, belonging, attachment, family relationships or experiences of care.
Her training includes Generalised Psychopathology, BWRT, NLP and Hospital Play specialism, alongside a range of creative and complementary approaches. She brings these together thoughtfully, responding to each young person as an individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. Carly is committed to continuing her professional development and is currently beginning her journey into Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).
Child advocacy is central to Carly’s work. She helps schools and families look beyond behaviour to consider what a young person may be communicating through their attendance, emotional wellbeing, presentation or engagement.
Carly believes that meaningful, lasting change becomes possible when young people feel genuinely seen, heard and understood. Guided by kindness, connection and inclusion, she works alongside young people, families and schools to build greater self-compassion, clarity, confidence and hope for what comes next.
