The Wonder Within Programme

The Wonder Within Programme partners with secondary schools to support young people whose emotional distress, behaviour, attendance or engagement may be showing that something deeper is going on.

Through relational, trauma-informed support, we help young people feel safer, calmer and more understood — strengthening emotional regulation, belonging and their capacity to engage with learning, relationships and everyday life.

Creating safe, compassionate spaces where young people can begin to understand themselves, build confidence, and move forward with greater clarity, connection and hope.

About The Wonder Within

The Wonder Within Programme works alongside secondary schools to strengthen the support around young people who may be experiencing emotional overwhelm, disconnection, attendance concerns, relational difficulties or barriers to learning, belonging and everyday life.

School is often where distress becomes visible — but the need is rarely only about school.

Through Therapeutic Mentoring, our Girls Wonder Club, CIC sessions, Workshops and Alternative Provision, we create space for young people to feel understood, supported and safely reconnected with themselves, others and education. Supporting them to refind, their 'Wonder Within'

A relational, trauma-informed service supporting young people and their families , who are experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, EBSA, low self-worth, relational difficulties, exclusion risk, neurodivergent needs or wider disconnection from everyday life.

Where We Can Help

We support young people whose behaviour, attendance, emotional wellbeing or engagement may be showing that something deeper is going on.

  • This may include young people experiencing:
  • Emotionally Based School Avoidance / EBSA
  • Anxiety, emotional overwhelm or dysregulation
  • Behaviour linked to unmet need
  • SEMH needs
  • Neurodivergence, including masking profiles
  • Exclusion risk or disconnection from school
  • Child in Care or previously looked-after experiences
  • Safeguarding complexity or wider vulnerability
  • Difficult transitions or reintegration back into school

We also support the adults around the young person — including safeguarding, pastoral, SEND, attendance and inclusion teams — to strengthen a more relational, joined-up response.

Our Approach

Wonder Within provides relational, trauma-informed support that helps schools understand what may sit beneath behaviour, attendance difficulties or emotional overwhelm.

  • We focus on emotional safety, regulation and trust
  • We support young people beyond behaviour
  • We work alongside the adults around the child
  • We use reflective, nervous-system aware practice
  • We create joined-up support that helps young people reconnect with learning, relationships and everyday life

This is structured inclusion support — designed to help young people feel understood, supported and able to move forward.
